Maudsley and King’s
The Maudsley, working with King's College London, is a global centre of excellence
The Maudsley Hospital is the heart of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Situated at the Denmark Hill campus, the hospital shares the site with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It’s also the home of the Maudsley Charity, based in the ORTUS building. Together more than 5,000 health care staff work across the site.
As a Charity we fund projects that are closely linked to the Maudsley Hospital and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, we’ve also supported the Mind and Body programme, which joins together physical and mental health, a project that benefits staff and patients across south-east London.
The Maudsley is an international centre of excellence. Staff from across the Maudsley and IoPPN create one of the largest concentrations of scientists and clinicians in Europe, working in mental health.
The Maudsley Charity has contributed over £1.8m to funding the Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre, a project that enables researchers to develop clinical applications from scientific breakthroughs, and translate these discoveries into new treatments for patients.
From providing financial support to hospital inpatients, supporting patients engage in day trips to museums and galleries, to our commitment in supporting research; the range of work we do here supports patients and staff, helps to improve the experiences of people in hospital and those working here to make a difference.
