Transformation

Our transformation grants are large scale, long term impact projects that aim to maximise the power of collaboration and world class expertise in mental health across South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College London. Over the next five years we’ve committed to spending £10m on initiatives at this scale.

Transformation grants are large scale, long term impact projects that aim to maximise the power of collaboration and expertise in mental health.

These must demonstrate the ‘Maudsley vision’ in action – collaboration between clinicians, researchers and other experts, including people who experience mental illness, to accelerate change.

End outcomes are likely to include measures such as: significant contribution to evidence base on prevention and treatment, reduction in symptoms, improved efficiency of services, increased likelihood of recovery, reduced length of treatment and improved experience of care.

These strategic grants are developed over time between the Maudsley Charity, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institiute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.
