Maudsley Charity has appointed Elvira Morrison to the newly created position of Director of Fundraising and Communications. She joins the charity from Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH) where she has been part of the Fundraising Senior Management Team for the last five years. She was previously Chief Executive of the children’s medical research charity, Sparks, which she led through a merger with GOSH in 2020.

Speaking about the new role Morrison said, “I’ve been impressed by the impact Maudsley Charity, alongside its partners, has made for both local people who need support now and on the future of mental health for us all. It’s still a challenging time in the sector but I’m excited to join the charity at such an important time when the need for better treatment of serious mental health issues is so very apparent.”

Rebecca Grey CEO of Maudsley Charity remarked, “Creating a new role of Director of Fundraising and Communications marks an important milestone for Maudsley Charity. We support amazing work across clinical teams in the NHS, researchers and voluntary sector organisations all focused on improving mental health care and support. Elvi brings the kind of experience and expertise that will really help us deliver our ambitious plans for the next few years.”

Richard Morley, former Head of Communications at Maudsley Charity, has left to join NHS England.
