Lewisham

We fund projects across the London Borough of Lewisham, an inner-London borough, home to more than 275,000 people.

We fund projects across the borough both in our hospital services and in the community. We work closely with a number of community based organisations to improve the lives of people living with mental illness.

Through Maudsley Charity funding, staff and patients working together in Lewisham young people’s services have launched a Recovery College, called Alchemy. The project enables young people in Lewisham to access a range of exciting classes and opportunities.  We’ve supported the ‘Whatever Makes You Happy’ programme, a free, referral-based drama programme for young people aged 8-14 with, or at risk of developing, mental ill health.

In Lewisham approximately 3,400 people have a serious mental illness (source: gpcontract.co.uk).
