Lewisham Hospital, Ladywell Unit

Located at Lewisham Hospital, the Ladywell Unit provides NHS inpatient and community services to adults and older adults

The Ladywell Unit provides NHS inpatient and community care to adults and older adults. We are committed to improving the experience of patients and staff and fund a number of projects at the site.

We fund volunteering services across South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Through this scheme we’ve enabled Natashia to run a Saturday walking group for inpatients from Claire Ward. The ward can be a busy environment and providing patients with time off the ward, to get some fresh air and connect with nature, has been well received by both patients and staff.

Through funding Journeys of Appreciation we are enabling older adults to visit galleries and museums, to help service users reconnect with the world, and experience things that they may have done before their illness or hospital admission.

Staff at Lewisham Hospital participated in a Therapeutic Relationships course which trained them to engage therapeutically with their staff teams and patients, with the aim of improving patient care and staff morale.

Each year we support more than 1000 patients, providing hospital welfare grants to ensure patients don’t experience unnecessary hardship whilst receiving hospital inpatient care.
