Maudsley Charity is an independent NHS charity focusing on improving mental health care and support, particularly for those most severely affected by mental illness. As an independent NHS charity, we draw on our endowment to help NHS teams to enhance their work to benefit patients and build collaborative new approaches to some of the most challenging issues in mental health.
The Charity gives grants, which range from multi-million pound clinical and research initiatives intended to drive change across the UK, to smaller-scale projects directly supporting people who experience mental illness. They have a specific focus in their work on the needs and challenges of those who have experienced, or who are most at risk of experiencing mental illness.
Maudsley Charity is looking for a PA to Director of Programmes and Project Support to join our recently established Programmes Team on a permanent basis.
We are an ambitious and values-driven team, working alongside NHS, academic and community partners. We are currently entering a new phase of programme development where we are modelling new ways of working with award holders to develop evidence and increase impact in our grantmaking around mental illness.
This role will sit within the programmes team, which is aiming for excellence in grantmaking relationships and processes, building on connections and providing appropriate grantee support in order to increase our overall charitable impact.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and a great forward planner. We can offer a chance to bring those skills to support work that makes a difference on mental illness.
You will be responsible for managing the Director of Programmes’ diary efficiently and effectively, looking ahead to plan time, and prioritise workload and commitments in response to the organisation’s requirements. You will also take on project administrative and event planning tasks to support our growing Programmes team.
As a team, we value and acknowledge diverse experiences, voices and perspectives, particularly those who come from minoritised communities and/or have direct experience of living with mental illness or being a carer for someone living with mental illness.
You’ll benefit from collaborating with the wider team and building on internal and external relationships. We are based in our vibrant offices in ORTUS, Denmark Hill, a great place to work and hold events.
This is a rewarding role, where your support to the programmes and wider team will be valued.
Closing date for applications: 12 May 2022
