World Aids Day: Comedy Night

A night of comedy at the Two Brewers in Clapham to mark World AIDS Day, with proceeds going to the Food Chain and Maudsley Charity

We have an exciting line-up of comedians including Dane Baptiste, Rosie Jones, Sophie Duker, Ed Night and Stephen K Amos.

About the organisers… SLaM’s HIV Liaison Service provides mental health support for people who are living with HIV and complex mental health problems in the boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham.

Dane Baptiste Original and provocative, Baptiste has already being hailed as one of the most exciting acts to break in years. The London born stand up made comedy history in 2014 as the first black British act to be nominated for a Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

TV credits include hosting Live at the Apollo (BBC Two) and Live from the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), Tonight at the London Palladium (ITV1), Mock the Week (BBC Two), Live from the BBC (BBC Two), 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown(Channel 4) and his own BBC sitcom, Sunny D. In 2020 he will launch his brand new show The Chocolate Chip.

Rosie Jones With her infectious laugh and high energy, Rosie Jones has quickly become a must-see act on the UK comedy circuit. As seen on 8 out of 10 Cats, The Last Leg, Hypothetical, Live From The Comedy Store, and Roast Battle. “Extremely funny, dark and occasionally downright wicked” ★★★★ – I Newspaper

Sophie Duker Sophie describes herself as a “sexy-cerebral comedy underdog” and is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit.Sophie is an alumna of the prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve, has been shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award and is a previous finalist of the Funny Women Awards. She is also a comedy writer whose funnies you might have heard in the following places: the British Broadcasting Co-orporation (Famlam, BBC2; The News Quiz, The Now Show, BBC Radio 4) and Cartoon Network (The Amazing World of Gumball).“A sparky proposition… intelligent jokes” – The Independent

Ed Night Ed is a prodigious talent and one the youngest stars of the UK comedy circuit. In 2017 he was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards’ Best Newcomer. In 2018 and 2019 he sold out his entire Edinburgh run and then went on to host Radio1’s ‘Ed and Lauren’ show. Ed has also been seen on E4 and BBC3 and heard on BBC Radio 4 and BBC 5 Live. He is currently performing across the UK and Europe.

Stephen K Amos has charmed and entertained audiences all over the world with his natural, assured delivery and his honest, original material. A gifted actor, Amos has impressed critics with his performances on stage and screen and has proved he is one of the most unique comedy voices of his generation but demonstrated a penchant for drama roles. Comfortable as a performer, presenter, actor and guest there is no doubt that Amos will retain his position as one of the nation’s favourite comedians for a long time to come.Stephen is about to start the UK leg of his tour with his latest show Everyman which will then head on to Australia in 2020. In 2018 Stephen toured Bouquets & Brickbats around the UK, Europe, South East Asia and Australia. Stephen was also asked back on to QI featuring in the first episode of series P.
