Richard Morley

Head of Communications

Richard Morley is Head of Communications for Maudsley Charity and is responsible for overseeing strategic communications and fundraising.

Richard additionally manages arts strategy for the charity, working closely with our partner Bethlem Gallery. He also supports and promotes the work of the ORTUS, a Maudsley Charity owned events, education, cafe and public access space based at the Maudsley Hospital.

Richard has previously worked at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and has more than 15 years’ experience working in the mental health sector.

Richard is a trustee of the Adamson Collection Trust, one of the major international collections of art objects made by people who lived in European long-stay mental asylums.

In 2020 Richard became a Freeman of The Stationers’ Company, the City of London Livery Company for Communications and Content Industry senior executives. In 2021 Richard was awarded Freedom of the City of London, a recognition awarded to people who have achieved success, recognition or celebrity in their chosen field.
