Elvira has worked in the charity sector for more than 20 years, where she has been responsible for a broad range of fundraising and communications functions. She became Chief Executive of the children’s medical research charity Sparks in 2016 and led a partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity), to ensure a greater impact on child health research. Following this, Sparks formally merged with GOSH Charity in 2020. Elvira joins Maudsley Charity from GOSH Charity where she has been part of the Fundraising Senior Management Team for the last five years and has a keen interest in personal development, mentoring several individuals and organisations across the sector and beyond.
