Dr Nicola Byrne
Nicola is Deputy Medical Director, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Caldicott Guardian and joint medical lead for Quality Improvement at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She came into these roles in 2017, and since then has provided the Trust’s clinical leadership for various digital health related developments, alongside Quality Improvement projects such as the Trust Suicide Prevention strategy.
She has over ten years’ experience as a consultant psychiatrist in the Trust within adult services and she continues to work clinically across a variety of inpatient and home treatment team services.
Outside of the Trust, she has chaired the Royal College of Psychiatrists ‘Women and Mental Health’ Special Interest Group and has 10 years previous non-executive experience with the London based housing charity Single Homeless Project.
Nicola is a Trustee nominated by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The Maudsley Charity Board comprises six independent trustees including the Chair (David Barclay), and three trustees nominated by the Board of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
